Marsali Hancock Delivers Keynote Address
The Coleman County Technology Institute invited iKeepSafe CEO & President to give the opening keynote address at their conference last week.
The two-day conference, held in Texas, was open to all teachers and administrators and offered over twenty breakout sessions.
Ms. Hancock discussed strategies to build a positive digital climate at school. For example, it is important for teens to learn how to:
• Evaluate online sources,
• Determine what to trust online,
• Compare online information sources for accuracy, relevance and bias.
Educators may want to show their students this short video to teach these principles:
Mr. Richard Guerry of IROC2 gave the keynote speech on the second day, addressing cyber safety for adults as well as children.
“It was a great conference, and I was honored to attend,” Ms. Hancock remarked. “The break out sessions were fascinating and it was wonderful to see so many educators and administrators considering digital safety topics.”
